How to turn your work experiences into a college degree?
Study at the ease of your home or while you are pursuing your career. St. Paul College of Technology is now offering distance and online learning in collaboration with St. Linus Online Institute.
Former President Fidel V. Ramos, signed
into a law Executive Order 330 or the "Expanded Tertiary Education
Equivalency and Accreditation Program". E.O. 330 stated that
"recognized that education and acquisition of higher expertise are
processes that also take place in the world of work and beyond the
confines of the classroom as exemplified by the Philippine educational
Placement test (PEPT), the distance education programs of pioneering
higher education institution (HEIs), and the Dual Training System."
By adopting the principles of E.O. 330,
you may be conferred a college degree based on your work experiences,
past schooling, training, etc. provided that you have earned the
required number of hours on a degree program you are applying for.
A. Credit by Acceleration Exam
We use standardized exams, proficiency
assessment and other general aptitude test battery. If you pass
the test, we shall confer you the degree the same day you took the exam.
B. Credit by Work Experience
We give merits to the prior experiential learning (or self-taught learning) of the student: professionally or personally.
A degree, however, is awarded only if
the acquired work credentials are equivalent to what would have been
taught in a college level course and the student has sufficient,
verifiable and demonstrable academic knowledge and technical skills
supporting his/her claim.
C. Credit by Matriculation
If you are not interested to get your
degree via "option a" or "option b" you can also do "option c": you
enroll, study, pass all the requirements online then graduate.
